We are two moms inspired by a series of Oprah shows to write and self-published, Let’s Get Ready For Kindergarten! and the soon to be released Let’s Get Ready For First Grade! We take inspiration from the Wright brothers! If two brothers from Ohio could change the face of aviation, then two moms from Wisconsin can change the face of education!

Linda Desimowich and Stacey Kannenberg, wrote Let’s Get Ready For Kindergarten! with approval from a panel of teachers, curriculum specialists and parents to be a simple solution to "no child left behind." Our idea is simple: one book for each grade that tells parents and kids everything they need for that grade.

Let’s Get Ready For Kindergarten! has received national acclaim with winning the 2005 Adding Wisdom Award from Parent-to-Parent, a Silver Addy for illustrations by the American Advertising Awards and has been selected as one of the top new products for parents by Orca Communication’s Media Best Guide, July-October, 2005 edition. Cedar Valley Publishing, owned by Desimowich and Kannenberg and located in Fredonia, Wisconsin is on a mission to get the books in all schools. As parents we looked for a book like ours, found that none existed and decided to write and self-publish our book. We wanted a durable book that you could put a child in your lap and simply read the core curriculum for each grade! It’s not a storybook or a workbook, an adult or teacher simply reads the words on each page and children learn!

Parents, teachers and kids love our book and it can truly make a difference at home and in the classroom! Parents like it because they feel empowered and actively involved in the information their children are learning, teachers love it because it reinforces everything children learn in the classroom. We believe our simple tool will literally change the face of education today and is a must have for every child ages 2-6 and 6-8!

To encourage corporate sponsorship, we have developed some exciting options for companies who are interested in donating a large quantity of our books to their favorite school district. We will reprint the cover with that company’s logo and reprint the back cover with that company message at no additional cost. The company can live forever in the pages of the book. We also offer an additional option to have our illustrator add a page into the book featuring the donor company with our characters and an activity promoting that business to become a part of our book and will work with the school district to make sure the message and books will be accepted. That option is an additional cost for the donor company. A company could be featured with our kids with their products and still be a 100% tax-deductible charitable expense. Cedar Valley Publishing is donating 10% of profits to literacy programs.
